Kenyan rap icon Khaligraph Jones has signed a landmark multi-year deal with Universal Music Africa, making him the first Kenyan hip-hop artist to join the label’s continental roster.

The deal covers distribution, marketing, and sync licensing across 54 African countries and key diaspora markets in Europe and North America.

“OG is going global — for real this time,” Khaligraph posted on X, alongside a photo with Universal Music Africa’s CEO in Johannesburg.

His upcoming project, reportedly titled Proverbs of the OG, is expected to drop in Q3 2026 and will be his first fully label-backed release.
